Finally!!!

An old gold mining dredge in Chicken, Alaska, on The Top of the World Highway.

Moose everywhere.

Getting colder and wetter...

The official and authorized BMW "dealer" in Fairbanks, Alaska.

They have the latest BMW models...

Free detailing on your car with every purchase...

Plenty of parking...

State of the art facilities...

This is Rikki, who just may have saved me from freezing to death.  He dragged me to an outdoor gear shop, and had me buy some warmer clothes, gloves, etc.  He invited me to dinner, where we talked bikes and roads.  Thanks Rikki!!!

The long and tough road from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay, the Dalton Highway.  That's the Alaska Pipeline on the right.

Desolate but beautiful landscape.

I knew the road would be tough, so I left the side cases in Fairbanks.

Need I say more??

A few miles down the road the rear fender broke off and got caught inside the wheel.  Took a while but it came out.

That's what was left of it...

The 5 star resort at Coldfoot, halfway down the road.  $150 for this s...hole!! I passed...

But not before filling up with gas!!

More teddy bears...

Yes, it was cold at the Atigun Pass.

Getting gas at Deadhorse, the end of the road.

"The weather is here, wish you were beautiful..."

It was a little colder on the return over Atigun Pass

More moose...

What's wrong with this picture???  4000 RPM, 6th gear, and 0MPH???  Yes, the speedometer is broken now, and the brakes are acting up again.

Met this charachter in Fairbanks.  Albert is from Spain.  He shipped his bike from Barcelona to Buenos Aires, and rode up here.  We're riding south together now, probably as far a sVancouver, where he'll head back to Europe.  See his site at www.albertpuig.info

The geese are heading south and so am I now....

      Hola Guidarius:
Esteban.

      Guido,

The scenery is spectacular. Wish I were riding there with you, except for the cold of course. You should be able to ditch that cold weather gear soon. Maybe you can sell it on eBay or your website? Is the bike going to make it? I thought they made those BMW's tough? Happy riding and keep the rubber side down.

I hope you don't freeze too bad on the way out, Guido. Glad you could stay with us and I really REALLY wish I could be taking a ride as cool as the one you're on. Enjoy Argentina and look me up if you get a wild hair to come up to Alaska again. I'll shoot you the pics of you leaving the cabin in a day or so when I get 'em off the camera. Be safe my friend.
